Burlington Real Estate
As builders we are often approached to provide opinions on the Real Estate Market in Burlington. We can give accurate budgets to folks interested in building their dream home as we are dealing daily in the costs of homebuilding. This “finger on the pulse” can bring insights to where things are going with the Burlington Real Estate Market in terms of costs, not to mention the ever-changing building code. We asked our principal Fil Capuano, a Burlington Resident, to opine on the real estate market in Burlington. Fil pointed to some of his acquaintances who are realtors and agents in the business “ I can give you an opinion of what real estate in Burlington is worth but you are better off talking to the folks who are making the deals on a daily basis.”

A local expert Realtor’s look at Burlington Real Estate.
We took Fil’s advice, doing just that, we asked Katie Reynolds of Royal LePage, a well known local agent for her advice. Calling Burlington home for many years katie has an almost intuitive feel for the Burlington Real Estate scene. When asked what trends she is seeing in Burlington Real Estate, Katie rejoined.
“Downtown is increasingly popular with the 55 + and the Y generation. Both of these demographics are looking for urban living and walkability. They do not want a big yard to deal with and they are attracted to well built homes over size, all rooms to have a function with a contemporary, open feel. Fresh, bright, good lighting, great kitchen and will pay as long as they feel the value is there. Design trends are leaning towards the more modern, some Arts and Crafts as well. Still the white and grey tones inside but homes need to be bright with light coming in, therefore big windows.”
Katie concluded her short commentary with words that are music to the ears of a builder like Chatsworth Fine Homes ……..
“No matter where it is in Burlington people are buying, they are less tolerant of poor renovations/handyman work, quality is very important.”
For us, katie’s testimonial about Burlington’s Real estate reinforces the basic principles we follow. That doing a great job for our clients is not only gratifying and provides a happy client but ultimately is sought after by ever increasingly discerning buyers.
So where does the Market go from here?
These buying trends will surely continue but the Canadian market as a whole has definitely been affected by the Government’s latest round of mortgage tightening regulations. On the Local level Burlington Real Estate posted significant price adjustments throughout the later part of 2017. Many feel that the housing market will normalize somewhat and the adjustments to house prices similar to the inevitable stock market correction seen recently will adjust to a more vibrant growth rate.
